If you have, you'll completely understand my reaction upon reading the following, which is the synopsis on Netflix of Season 2 of the Canadian tv series "Emily of New Moon" -
Following Aunt Elizabeth's tragic death at sea, Emily (Martha MacIsaac) fights to regain possession of New Moon from her unsympathetic relatives, Laura (Sheila McCarthy) develops a debilitating drug addiction, and Jimmy (Stephen McHattie) falls head over heels in love with Eve. Season two of this dramatic television series also features Emily quitting school, Reverend Pitch arriving to scare off the devil, and Ilse's father accepting a new job.
I'm appalled. I honestly thought only Americans completely disregarded the source material when making a movie or tv show from a well-loved book. Sad to know that Canadian film-makers are equally adept. Travesty, I tell you!
