I hope it's a good birthday (with a good bike ride) and the start to an excellent year.

I don't know if anyone remembers a post I made a few months ago regarding a friend (of a friend, really) in Kenya. His teenage daughter disappeared coming home from university classes one day. Honestly, my friends and I figured this girl would never be found.
Well, she's been found and she's home safe with her family. Her father e-mailed my friend, who passed the e-mail along to everyone who's been praying for the family. G. is back home, malnourished and frightened, but safe with her family. She said that she had been staying in Masai land and doesn't know how she got there. When she told the people ("two ladies")who had her that she wanted to go home, they told her that her dad had disowned her because she had shamed him and didn't want her back. This week she walked away and was able to get to someone friendly who helped her get home. "This daughter of mine was dead and is alive again! She was lost and is found!" Thank God!

This has been absolutely the worst summer for movies I can remember in ages. Most summers I have to budget my movie money very carefully because there's always more than one I want to see at any one time. This summer - some weeks there haven't been any. What is up with that? I hope the fall is better. (I liked Salt, though, and Despicable Me and Karate Kid. But really, three in one summer? Honestly!)
(I just checked Fandango. Nothing new that I want to see yet again. I wouldn't mind seeing Inception, though I haven't heard anyone raving about it, including friends, but that's pretty much it this week.)
