My relationship with Facebook, that is. I want to dump it now more than ever - the number of people (sometimes people I know! sometimes people who I know are intellectually intelligent but apparently have no discernment whatsoever!) who post lies and misinformation is saddening and sickening. It's always the case, but because of the coronavirus, it's just so obvious right now. I check things people post to see if it's true and the sheer number of posts that are just passing on bad (and potentially harmful) information is ridiculous and amazing.

And what's with all these people who don't trust actual medical professionals and scientists but will trust any joe on Facebook that tells them that elderberry syrup and colloidal silver will keep them from getting sick and cure them if they do? And that the only reason any government promotes quarantine is because it suits their nefarious purposes of turning the country (any country) into a prison state with robot citizens who have no free will. I. Want. To. Pull. My. Hair. Out.

And yet - I wouldn't have the constant, regular contact with my Michigan cousins and my sister and her family in Georgia if it weren't for Facebook. They're the number one reason I stay connected. There are other groups I like on Facebook - Star Trek and cross stitch and crochet groups - but I can find those elsewhere on the Internet. Almost daily contact with distant family members? Not so much. (We used to have a family website through myfamily.com but that business is defunct.)
