I'm up to Voyager in my Star Trek rewatch and apparently I missed a good chunk of Season 2 the first time around because I've never seen some of these episodes before. I just watched Threshold for the first time. I have no words. I've heard how awful it is, what with Paris and Janeway turning into human-sized salamanders and have salamander babies, but hearing about it just isn't the same. I'm pretty sure I won't bother watching this one ever again, no matter how much of a completist I am. (If I'm doing a rewatch, I just can't skip an episode. Pretty sure I'll be able to make an exception for this one!)

Seriously, it's like watching a filmed crackfic but with none of the fun.

(No mood emoji today because I don't have one for "horrified".)

US folks, that is. Four years ago I went to bed on election night certain that Hilary Clinton would be our first female president because I didn't think enough of my fellow citizens were foolish enough or morally bankrupt enough to elect the other guy. Turns out I thought too highly of them. I'd like to think people have learned better over four years but after living through the past several months, my expectations have sunk lower than ever. Still, I really, really hope (and pray) that enough people have finally realized what it is they put into office that they'll vote him out. Thing is, he's been in the public eye for over 35 years, has always shown himself to be exactly what he is, and people still voted him in, so my hope is very, very cautious. I kind of don't want to go to sleep tonight and I also don't really want to see the news tomorrow. Here's hoping it's good.... (I did my part.)
