Traveling Wilburys

I can't say I was really a Tom Petty fan but I certainly can't say I disliked him either. I'm familiar with his work because he was such a presence in American music and I'm truly sad that he's gone because it creates another hole in our musical culture and in my youth and because he was just too young to die. Isn't it funny how when we're kids, 66 seems ancient - and now I keep thinking how Irish just turned 66 two days ago and I don't like hearing about men my husband's age dying. I'm sad for his friends and family and everyone who loved him.

And I've been listening to the Traveling Wilburys for the past two days and loving their music but being sad at the same time that three of them are gone. I love this video - it always looks like they're just enjoying themselves so much. (And even it's sad, with one of them already gone.)
