I'm going to do the prompts this month as part of an effort to post more frequently. Today I'm playing catch-up.

1. When did you last stay in a hotel and where?

The first week of April, 2019, I went to our Chicago office for a couple days of training and stayed in a small boutique hotel in downtown Chicago and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it! I sent myself a postcard (they would mail postcards of the hotel for you for free) but I'm not sure where it is right now.

These are photos of a couple areas in the lobby, the elevator door, my room door, and a part of my room. I didn't include the view from my window since my room was on the back wall of the hotel and looked over an alley and the backs of other buildings!

I took several photos in Chicago though I won't post most of them.

The Lyric Opera House is across the street from the hotel but I don't remember if it was directly across - I keep thinking hotel was in the middle of the block and the Opera House in on the corner. There's a view of Lake Michigan from one of our Chicago office windows and two views approaching the Adler Planetarium, which is one of my favorite places and such a beautiful building. Sadly, I haven't been there in over 20 years. (I didn't go then, either, because I was on my way home at the end of the day.)

2. Have you ever had any teeth pulled?

No, not even wisdom teeth. They never came in, they've never bothered me, and I've been advised to leave them alone unless they do.

3. What is one of your favorite comedy movies?

I always struggle with "what is one of your favorite-" types of questions. I can never think what to say off the top of my head! I don't play favorites much. I do like Monty Python's Holy Grail.

4. Do you have a crush on anyone you haven't really talked to before?

No, unless you count fictional characters. Ichabod Crane on the tv show Sleep Hollow is my big crush right now. (I'm rewatching the show.)

5. What is your least favorite sour patch kids color?

It's been so long that I don't remember!

6. Have you ever one a competition? If so, what was it and what did you win?

Not really anything to talk about. I did win a prize in our Halloween food competition at work several years ago. I brought in sugar cookies that had been cut and decorated to look like witches fingers. I'm pretty sure the prize was a little Halloween decoration for my desk.

7. Did you ever take classes for a musical instrument when you were younger?

Yes, piano for many years. I still love to play though unfortunately my own piano isn't in working condition right now. I also dabbled with clarinet and flute (in middle school orchestra) but didn't get very far with either. I took guitar lessons in seventh grade and would've liked to continue but we moved to Indiana that summer and my folks couldn't afford two sets of lessons for me plus piano for both my sisters, so I chose piano. Have never regretted it!

8. How often do you walk around barefoot?

Every day, though mostly inside. I don't go barefoot outside much anymore. I have very flat feet and pronated ankles and the older I get, the more supportive I need my shoes to be, especially outside. Plus, I've found myself more prone to heel bruises in the past 5 years, so I'm much more careful than I used to be. I miss being barefoot all summer at home, inside and out!
