Drove to work yesterday, drove to lunch (drove around a big block just for fun), drove to the store last night 'cause DH wanted snacky stuff - driving is great!
The dealership that approved us on their second chance financing back in March suggested a $1500 downpayment. We would've had that by next payday but it keeps getting hotter and I'm tired of walking from the bus to work and vice-versa in the hotness (not good a good hotness!) - not to mention waiting at the unsheltered bus stop for the bus to show up. So we went there Monday morning to see if they would deal with a bit smaller downpayment. Several hours later, we drove off in a 1997 Saturn. Good condition, runs well - DH was satisfied - fantastic sound system; the previous owner put a new one in, better than any I've ever had in a car - or at home, for that matter. Very pretty dark blue. It took awhile because it was a holiday (more customers to deal with, no cashier on duty) plus we had to deal with insurance over the phone but the hours were well worth it.
Monday was actually rather exhausting and by 9:00 p.m. I was ready for bed. (Writing that makes me feel so old!) Didn't actually make it there that early but I could've fallen asleep by then easily. After we got the car, we went to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, then to Borders (both places we hadn't been well over a year since they're not near home) and Target and didn't get home till after 4:00. We were supposed to meet some of my Michigan cousins at the MGM and go to supper at 5:00 but fell asleep and didn't wake up till 4:50, so we were about half an hour late. Spent a lovely evening with my cousins and some of their in-laws and came home in time to watch some fireworks from the parking lot.
Can't wait till the next time the Vegas Fen group goes to a movie and I don't have to say "ok, that sounds like fun, but only at this time or this time and only at theses three casinos 'cause they take the least time to get to on the bus . . . ." (Actually last summer, I didn't go to anything for much of the summer because when it gets much above 100 the heat's too much for me. I think 105 is about my upper limit, then it just makes me feel sick - and going from it into an air-conditioned building is completely enervating.)
