Gramma and Grampa

It's been a pleasant day but now it's late and I'm tired. I wanted to post something though, so here's a photo of my paternal grandparents on their 25th wedding anniversary. That would've been Christmas day, 1948. Grampa is 48, Gramma is 50. Last year curiouswombat posted a photo of her grandparents and there was some discussion of how people a couple of generations ago looked older than ours does at the same age. Looking at this one, I agree (again - I've often thought so). I think they look somewhat older than my friends and relatives in that age group. It's funny, dad looks like his mom's side of the family but I can see a resemblance to grampa here, too. (I take after gramma's side as well - I've twice posted photos of my grandmother and I at the same or near the same ages; the resemblance was remarkable. I'm not sure I see it in the face quite so much as I get older but it's still there and physically we're very similar.) Anyway -

I don't know when the second was taken - before January 1957, since that's when she died (shortly after my dad's 16th birthday, actually). Love the polka dot dress! I have one too. (And how about that wallpaper!)
