I just found out that a cousin's husband killed himself this week. (This is a actually a first cousin's son-in-law, whom I don't recall ever meeting.) He left a note for my cousin saying that he was leaving and wouldn't be coming back; she called the police to report him missing and they found his body in the woods on Wednesday. They have two teenagers (13 and 15) and I believe he had two sons from a previous marriage.
Also, a friend of mine has friends in Kenya, who sent out an e-mail last week saying that their oldest daughter disappeared, never made it home from high school one day. I haven't heard any updates, but saying it would be a miracle for her to be ok at his point isn't an exaggeration.
