What is something you do to indulge yourself?

Go to the movies by myself. I love going to the movies - it's one of the few things I really, really miss while social distancing. I enjoy going on dates with Irish, I like going with friends and family members, I like going with groups. But I really, really like going all by myself, settling in with popcorn and a large Diet Coke and losing myself in the show in front of me. I don't remember the first time I went by myself - I was still a teenager but don't remember if it was while I was in high school or in my freshman year at college during Christmas break at home. I was probably a little nervous about going alone the first time - that's one of those things that apparently are Just Not Done but after that, I never looked back. Want to see a movie and no one else is interested? Doesn't stop me! Until I got married it was just one of those things I did frequently for fun, like reading and needlework, but after I got married it became more uncommon just because it was more difficult to do since Irish and I usually went together. Since Irish went on disability and then transitioned to retirement, it truly is an indulgence because (this is pre-covid, of course) he's home all day with no vehicle and only the cats for company so on the weekends he really wants to do things together. Once in awhile though, I manage. (And sometimes we get the best of both worlds - go to the theater, split up to see separate movies, then join up again afterward to head to lunch or supper.)
