I haven't been able to access LiveJournal through my work laptop since the last time I posted. I could access through my phone but I hate doing a lot of typing on it. I'm back on today and while I still have to finish up that September meme, I'd like to do this one right now:

Post the top 10 from the week you graduated from high school/left secondary School.

Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes (hated it)
Being With You - Smokey Robinson (don't remember it)
Medley - Stars on 45 (don't remember it)
Sukiyaki - A Taste of Honey (liked it a lot and still do but like the Japanese original more)
Take It On the Run - REO Speedwagon (ok)
Living Inside Myself - Gino Vanelli (don't remember it)
A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do) - Ray Parker Jr. & Raydio (don't remember it)
Just the Two of Us -Grover Washington, Jr. w/Bill Withers (not bad)
America - Neil Diamond (ok)
Sweetheart - Franke & the Knockouts (don't remember it)

Wow, 1981 had some really sucky music. Granted, part of the reason I don't remember it as well as I might is that my favorite groups were Simon & Garfunkel and Peter, Paul & Mary (and still are) but I did listen to the top 40 station that everyone else did. I remember more songs from the late 1970s than the first couple of years of the 80s and 1980 itself was better than this. They just weren't good years. Things picked up music-wise in 1982-83 and I like a lot of 80s music - but I think Take It On the Run is the only one in this list that the oldies station plays now.

19. What was the first song you ever memorized?
Probably Jesus Loves Me. I can still remember being 3 years old and my older cousins asking me to sing Jesus Loves Me for them - back then I was a cutie and would sing at the drop of a hat. (I still do but only at home or in the car.)

20. What’s your favourite kind of bread?
I don't eat a lot of bread these days and I miss it. My favorite is homemade butterhorn rolls. My gramma always made them for Thanksgiving and my mom and probably all my aunts have made them at one point or another. My sister makes them sometimes. (I have never, ever made a yeast dough.) When I was 12, my mom made cinnamon rolls once using the butterhorn dough. Oh. My. Gosh.

21. What’s a big pet peeve you have?
One I don't mention ever because it's petty and none of my business - but it bugs me so much when Christians who don't speak Hebrew throw random Hebrew words into their prayers (like using "Adonai" instead of "God" and "shalom" instead of "peace"). Why? Why do you do that? You don't speak Hebrew! And it doesn't make you look more holy or more educated, it's an affectation and it sounds like one. Grrr.
