Your Personality is Somewhat Rare (ISTP)
Your personality type is reserved, methodical, spirited, and intense.

Only about 6% of all people have your personality, including 3% of all women and 8% of all men
You are Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Perceiving.

This is so funny - it seems that every time I do any version of the Myers-Briggs thing, I come out differently. (Yesterday, using a quiz from a different site, I came out as INTJ.) I've been several different "I" combinations and once even an "E". Of course that's to be expected with these little Internet versions, but honestly, I think the original is a bunch of hooey. People change all the time, there are so many variable that can change one's response from one day to the next, and I don't think Myers and Briggs took that into account when they devised it. I definitely don't think that people who rely on it, such as some employers, take that into account.

You Are Fantasy / Sci Fi
You have an amazing imagination, and in your mind, all things are possible.
You are open minded, and you find the future exciting. You crave novelty and progress.

Compared to most people, you are quirky and even a bit eccentric. You have some wacky ideas.
And while you may be a bit off the wall, there's no denying how insightful and creative you are.

Your Word is "Love"

You see life as possibility to form deep connections with a few people.

Relationships are the center of your world, and you always take time to bond with those you love.

You are caring and giving. You enjoy helping those you love.

And when it comes to romantic love, you feel passionately ... even in a very long term relationship.

I took it; it seems relatively accurate....

I have to say, I don't consider myself a liberal anything, economic or otherwise - more moderate - but all of these labels are relative. When I'm with my fannish friends, I often feel like the narrowest conservative out there - yet when I'm with my family, I definitely feel like a raving liberal! (I used those adjectives on purpose, since I think that's how conservatives and liberals see each other.) Maybe that just goes along with keeping a moderate view - no one else is really happy with how you see things! *g*

ETA - Oh, I see I'm edging into totalitarianism there, just a tad. That's just nice; now I feel really great about myself. *sigh* Maybe it's not relatively accurate after all. Or maybe I really mean it when I say I'm Queen Colleen!

Your result for Reincarnation Placement Exam...

Starfleet Crewperson

As Mister Spock would say: Fascinating. It seems you've managed to hit the edge of the curve on all metrics. An extraordinary life is almost certain.

According to your answers, you want it all, you want a lot of it, and you're willing to do what it takes to get it! Adventure! Romance! Technology! Challenge! You love civilization. You like people. You love the complications and joys of a big, weird crowd of humans plus lots of other beings wandering into dangerous and complicated corners of the galaxy.

There is an ideal place for you, and you are ideal for it: Welcome to the crew of the starship Enterprise. Captain Kirk would have welcomed you aboard himself, but his head was too big to fit in the landing bay.

- but I also read a lot and still do. I suspect that has more to do with my score than my actual education!

You paid attention during 100% of high school!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

Yep, born in Michigan, raised there till I was 13, then moved to northern Indiana (that is, seven miles from the Michigan state line). I didn't move out of the Great Lakes area till I was 22 and that was only for four years. This time I've been away for six and will probably be heading back in about six months.

This quiz does make me wonder, though, if we're the only ones who differentiate between various vowel sounds!

Now I would have never come up with that answer on my own! (Plus that extroversion rating is all wrong. I've never thought of myself as extroverted - don't extroverts have 100s of friends everywhere they go and an overly full social calendar? I don't think that's me!)

27 states - not too bad. One of my goals is to visit every one of them at least once.

I always think it's funny to see those little untouched islands - states I've never been to surrounded by those I have. How did I manage not to hit even a corner of West Virginia yet be in every single state that surrounds it? I'm always tempted to add Alabama to the list because my great-grandmother always thought we drove through a corner of it on our way to Florida when I was nine, but she was never sure. (As far as other countries are concerned, I've only been to Canada - our friendly neighbor to the south, if you're from Michigan as I am *g* - and only to Ontario. I've always loved Canada!)

That's the color, not the bird.

You Are Teal Green

You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.

I actually like teal a lot - but are we entirely sure this is complimentary?

Wanders off muttering "strange habits....." Singing Irish songs under one's breath in Albertson's is not a strange habit..... At least I'm not scary!

It's interesting - since I was a kid - I mean a little kid - I've been defined by my intellect. "The smart one." Both my sisters are just as smart as I am - my middle sister probably moreso - but they didn't get stuck with that label. I've heard plenty of aunts and uncles say, "It's too bad Colleen never got to finish college; she's so smart" - but have never once heard any of them say the same thing about either of my sisters, and it's equally true for both of them. Perhaps it's because they both deliberately made life choices that kept them out of college when their peers were going and I dropped out because my parents were broke - still, it's always seemed odd to me.

My youngest sister was "the rebellious one", middle sister was "the good one" - I guess in the long run I prefer the label I got stuck with; at least it's neutral! I figure the "rebellious" label gives a teen no reason to try to be anything but, and the "good" label is just so much to live up to. (Though in the interests of full disclosure, I could've easily worn the "good girl" label as well. It's just that the "smart" label was the one that stuck.) No reason behind my meandering today, just thinking about the labels we stick on our kids (grandkids, nieces, nephews, etc.).

Another quiz - I don't know how they (whoever "they" are) scored this one because this result is just weird. Not that I don't like William Wallace, but I wouldn't have thought I'd be him if I were a superhero!

Actually, I went back and changed an answer on the quiz (I scored equally between two superheros and had to answer a tie-breaker) because my first result was Batman. Aaaggghhh! Seriously, I almost screamed out loud. I don't like Batman, never have. *shudder* He has no superpowers! What kind of superhero is that? And that whole Robin thing.... And now it turns out he never let Batgirl learn to read and write? Sequential Tart article (Ok, so I may not like Batman, but that's so intriguing I can't help thinking I might have to track down that story line.)

I do think the 60s tv show is a hoot because it's so campy (I hated it when I was a kid, though) and didn't actually dislike all the Batman movies. (Only some of them - but not the last one, which I did enjoy.)

Having Captain Jack Sparrow come in third isn't so bad. But if I were really a superhero, I'd want to be Xena. (Who, come to think of it, doesn't have superpowers either. Hmm. Ok, so maybe it's not the lack of superpowers thing that annoys me. Off to ponder.)

Very accurate, which surprises me because I'm extremely suspiscious and distrustful of all psychobabble. (In spite of - or maybe that really is because of - my dad being in the mental health field.)

And to add to the stress, DH is back in the hospital. They think he may have had a mild heart attack Wednesday evening. You know, you'd think they could put far more comfortable visitor's chairs next to the ER beds so people sitting up all night with their loved ones wouldn't end up sore and achey the next morning! (That sounds selfish, doesn't it?) They'll be doing an angiogram today. Irish actually feels fine now, though tired. (It's hard to sleep well in a hospital.) Fortunately, they were finally able to move him to a bed in ICU this morning. He called me last night at 11:30 pissed off because he was still in the ER - 24 hours after arrival - trying to sleep in a Striker bed, hooked up to a monitor that wouldn't quit dinging, and threatening to check out AMA and walk home. After all, he felt fine now! I'm glad he stayed; it's possible that he had nothing more than a severe case of indigestion (though his slightly elevated blood levels indicate otherwise) but I don't want him leaving the hospital until they know for sure. I'll know more this evening but probably won't be able to post until Monday.

Hmmm, after missing a day at work, I supposed I'd better get off lj and actually do some work!

I tend to stay out of political discussions because I so often find myself disagreeing with everyone in the room (whether they're very liberal or very conservative) and because, quite frankly, I get no pleasure from discussing politics, none whatsoever. I did do the meme though - I'm surprised at how accurate it was - I generally do tend to be centrist (or moderate) - if I lean at all, it tends to be toward the right, though certainly not enough to let me enjoy political rants by my grandfather! (No, I really don't think we need to put American residents of Middle Eastern descent in segration camps and I never did, not even on 9/11. And, even though I'm a practicing Christian, I don't want a theocracy in this country, not by a long shot. Etc., etc.) Anyway, gakked from [livejournal.com profile] teresa_c, among others.
